Top 10 Things to Do in Cambodia

The country is rich in culture and its people are friendly. The total population is approximately 15 million in 2017 with the 24 provinces and a capital city, Phnom Penh. The country consists of 24 provinces and one capital city. Cambodia is a new interesting emerging tourism industry because of its great things to explore while your stay and visit. 10/ Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is a historical and peaceful city with various old architectures. The city has plenty of relaxing place and activities to do. The things to do in Phnom Penh are Royal palace- is a complex of buildings, which serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia and other fantastic complex buildings such as Silver Pagoda, Khemarin Palace, Throne Hall and Inner Court. National Museum- it keeps Indian sculpture to the more divine form of Khmer sculptures, totally 14,000 different pieces on show. 9/Prasat Preah Vihear

Prasat Preah Vihear temple is located on the Dangrek mountain range bordering Thailand. The temple is laid out along a north–south processional axis with five cruciform gopura (pavilions), decorated with exquisite carvings, separated by esplanades up to 275m long. The temple looks glorious standing up to the ski. All the architectures are neat with wonderful complex building.

8/ Siem Reap

Siem Reap is very famous tourist attraction for its amazing temples and history with fine decoration. Varieties of temples are standing to welcome visitors. The temples are divided into 2 circles (small and big). Small circle consist around 13 temples, and big circle includes approximately 21 temples. Beside the temple, there are large number of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses closely related to tourism. Beside these, in the city, there are museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft shops, silk farms, rice-paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake.

7/ Battambang

 

 

Battambang is a wonderful city with complex of French architecture entire the city. Things to do in Battambang are wats, markets and colonial buildings in town while some of the cycling options take you to Phnom Sampeou, Wat Banan or Wat Ek, stopping at villages on route. An interesting place in Battambang is bamboo train.

6/ Sihanouk Ville

Sihanouk Ville is a famous costal area where local and foreign visitors spend time relaxing there. There are various beaches in the province, and the most beautiful beaches are Southwestern Beach, Koh Rong, Long Set Beach, Koh Rong, Lazy Beach, Koh Rong Saloem, Koh Thmei beach, Ream National Park, Sokha Beach, Sihanoukville and Koh Tonsay (island of rabbits).

5/ Kompot

It takes around 3 hours to reach Kompot from Phnom Penh. The province is the most famous place for foreigners to relax with natural view along the freshwater stream and sea with fresh air. Besides relaxing along the stream, the province also has mountain, beaches and local epic art center.

4/ Kratie

Kratie is a province located in the Northeast of Cambodia. The province is a small along the Mekong River. There are not so many places to visit in this province. The most interesting tourist attraction is to see Mekong Dolphin (Erawadee).  Visitors can cycle around the township to see local lifestyle. And, visitors also can take hours cart on the island opposite the town by taking boat.

3/ Mondulkiri

Mondulkiri is a mountainous area with beautiful landscape. There are indigenous communities living there, so visitors can see those communities living styles plus waterfall. The famous waterfalls are Bousra, DakDam, Monorom and Romanea. Coffee plantation is also in the province.

2/ Ratanakiri

Similar to other mountainous province, Ratanakiri is a popular province for its green landscape, waterfall and Yak Lom Lake. Many waterfalls are waiting for visitors such as Chaa Ong, Ka Tieng and others. The Yak Lom Lake is very well-known for its clear and cool water where visitors are able to swim and play in it.  It is also known as multi-indigenous communities.

1/ Tonle Sap Lake

The lake is located on the five provinces around it, but just some parts in Siem Reap and Battambang provinces are popular for tourists.  The lake’s size, length and water volume varies considerably over the course of a year from an area of around. It is the source of fish to serve Cambodian people. Floating village is a famous tourist attraction that can attract many visitors.
